For Schools...

As part of the CWT Kernow Glassa project, we have recently had the privilege of designing guided activities which were successfully delivered to individual classes from several local primary schools.  These included: Exploring the Functional Diversity of Rocky Shore Species, Creating and Understanding Food Chains, and Building a Bug Hotel.  Typically incorporating a fun group challenge and/or competitive element, activities were designed to be associated with both National Curriculum subject areas and particular CWT nature reserves (Pendarves Wood and Upton Towans), providing the opportunity to not only learn and develop new Science/Ecology skills but also to learn about different habitats, individual reserves and how these are managed.  All of the above can be adapted to different environments, including school grounds.

The following 'follow-up activities' are available to download:

CWT KG Activity 1 Cornwall Food Chains Game (1 doc)

CWT KG Activity 2 Build an insect (1 doc)

CWT KG Activity 3 Rocky Shore Wordsearches (Crustaceans, Wildlife, Molluscs, Crustaceans Answers, Wildlife Answers, Molluscs Answers)

CWT KG Activity 4 I live here (Pendarves Info & Guidance, Pendarves example, Pendarves empty for filling, Upton Towans Info & Guiidance, Upton Towans example, Upton Towans empty for filling)
