The thin line between life and death...

As shown in this series of photos that I took back in the summer, the natural world can be brutally unforgiving of the slightest error. The fly only misjudged its flight by a fraction, but enough to get caught in a strand of the garden spider’s web. In little more than a minute it was a neatly wrapped food parcel.
